Burning Permits

Burning is permitted with the following restrictions:

1. Burning Permits are now required to burn. They are available at the town hall at no cost.

2. Burning permits will only be issued during the following times - March 15th thru May 15th & Sept 15th thru Nov 15th.

3. Hours are limited between 4pm to 7pm Monday-Friday and 8am-7pm on Saturdays. No burning on Sundays or Holidays.

4. The only material that can be burned are dry leaves, dry plant clippings, and dry brush.

5. The ordinance does not apply to unpopulated areas of the town or outdoor fireplaces and barbeques (as defined).

6. The Fire Chief may ban the issuance of permits during periods of high fire hazard.

7. Someone age 14 years or older must be in attendance of all fires until completely extinguished.

Zoning/Occupancy Permits

La Crosse County Zoning Ordinance requires that a zoning/occupancy permit be issued for all construction with a few exceptions.

Building or Excavation Permits can be obtained through the town. You will need a copy of your zoning/occupancy permit and the required fee.
